Recently I was at an event where a lot of people in attendance had at one time or another
experienced leadership training from an organization called Rapport Leadership International. Rapport is a different type of leadership training and those who have attended keep a close watch on themselves and others. One thing they listen for very closely is the word TRY. While you might feel that TRY shows effort, in Rapport language, TRY is not a good word.
I can't claim ownership to this topic but I sure can relate to and elaborate on it. One Sunday, while in church, our pastor said, "Instead of trying to give our kids more of what we didn't get, we need to give them more of what we got." How true are these words.
When it comes to planning, many of us, including myself, lack the necessary discipline to do it on a consistent basis. But few things are more important in our lives than planning our day, our weeks, our years. Yet most of us fail to do just that.
We only go this way once. Why live it haphazardly? We should never leave our life to chance. We should leave it to choice. When we plan, we choose to live our lives the proper way. If you don’t know how to plan, learn today. Once you learn, begin to plan right away. Plan tomorrow, right now. Don’t leave another day of your life to chance.
