When I saw this it touched me deeply. I'm sure that it will touch you as well. It gives us all something to think about, and take pause, during this hectic, holiday season.
This is absolutely an awesome performance from Luciano Pavarotti and James Brown. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed it.
This is an audio of one of the most inspirational songs that I have ever heard. Listen and enjoy.
This year, in November, marks the 10th anniversary of the passing of comic Flip Wilson. For those that are old enough to remember, Flip Wilson had a variety show in the 70's in which he popularized his famous Geraldine Jones character. The reason I bring this up is because this character, Geraldine Jones, has made a lasting impact on the Internet. It was through Geraldine Jones that Flip Wilson uttered one of the most lasting phrases in American history - "What you see is what you get!"
This phrase was adopted by technology companies in the early days of computing and shortened to the acronym of WYSIWYG (pronounced wizzy wig) to describe a common property of text and graphic editors - meaning that the final output will be similar in look to the edited version.
Flip Wilson was a very talented and popular comic. When he died in 1998 he was only 64 years old. WYSIWYG is a lasting tribute to his memory. So, the next time you run across the term think of Flip. Here are a few videos of Flip from the early days.
The first is of Flip on the tonight show in the 60's and the second features his famous Geraldine Jones character with Muhammad Ali.
Sometimes we just need inspiration. Sometimes, in the midst of our storms we need help and guidance. Sometimes, we just need that good old time gospel music, that we heard as children in the church, to reach us, to touch us, to move us. And sometimes, when we hear it, we see clearer, we act more responsibly and we do what God would have us do.
Enjoy the following by Brother Joe May.
