It is easy to criticize. It is very simple to find fault with something someone else is doing. This is especially true with our children who seem to take the brunt of this criticism. How often have you seen parents admonishing their children over the child’s failure to do simple tasks, or to do something a certain way? It happens far too often.   I suppose some parents think that it is okay to whittle away the self esteem of a child. Instead of criticising, we should look for the good in our children.

We all have faults.  We’re not perfect.  Our children aren’t either.  Instead of looking for we perceive as the negatives in our kids, look at the positives that they bring to our lives. Look at the joy and happiness they put in our hearts. When we look at it that way, and at the same time try to imagine our lives without them,  then those little things they need work on really don’t seem to matter that much. Instead of looking for them to do something wrong, catch them doing something right! Let them know how much you appreciate them and what they bring to your life.
